Buying Selling and Valuating Guide
Hi guys,
Here is just a rough guide to help you buy, sell and valuate your games at the right price.
First things first, a great web site to go too is Video Game Price Charting http://videogames.pricecharting.com/
They have a robust charting system witch shows a game's price fluctuation from month to month. This includes games from the 2600 to the PS3. Bare in mind just to use this site as a guide and not the rule, these prices reflect American and UK markets, Austrlian markets tend to be slighly more exspensive due to scarcity here.
Another good way to get a average price of a game is to do a complete listing search on Ebay, bare in mind there some real idiots on ebay that reckon "Mario & Duck Hunt" is a rare NES cartridge and demands a 50$ buy it now (actual price 5$) Prices on Ebay will vary dramatically so be patient and don't buy a game that you think is overpriced in fear it wont be listed again, because it will.
Some times the demand for a game is much higher than the actual rarity, eg. Super Mario World is an extreamly common SNES game but goes for insane prices due to its popularity. A great way to find out the true rarity of your games check out this site

In terms of best places to buy games I recommend this hierarchy;
1.Garage sales/Trash n Treasure markets
2.Forums/FB pages
3.Auction sites: Ebay, Craigslist, Gamegavel (great site btw)
4.Retaliers: EB, Gametraders, Game, JB, Cashconverters
You will most likely always find the best deal at a market cause the vendor wont know what they have, Ebay seems to be the best way of finding exactly what you want but be prepared to over pay, I do recommend buying current generation game from Ebay though, try and import them from a UK seller and it will probably still work out being cheaper than EB with shipping included.
Well I hope this small guide helps a bit, feel free to post your tips and tricks on acquiring games and add to what I have just mentioned above.
